If you are considering buying land in Costa Rica, this farm is one of the most beautiful properties around. It is located in the mountains above Uvita at approx 2000 ft elevation and is much cooler than down at sea level. This is a great elevation for living and growing many types of fruits and vegetables. The soil on this farm is dark in color and great for growing food unlike many of the farms in the area which are mainly red clay. There are 2 ways to get to this property. The first is from Uvita and up to a gravel road. This access takes about 30 min from the paved highway and can be an adventure at times. The other access is from San Isidro and takes about 40 min from the city center and can be done with a 2 wheel drive car.
The property is approx 25% open pasture and 75% primary jungle. When you enter the property you go through a section of jungle and then it opens up into the first pasture area which is approx 10 acres. This section staircase down and is almost all usable and currently has a bodega and a horse corral. The view from this area is amazing and looks out at primary jungle, mountains, and ocean including the Ballena Islands! Then there is a trail through another section of jungle that brings you to the second 10-acre clearing which is much flatter and all usable. This is where the old homestead was and also has great mountain and ocean views. There are many mature fruit trees including mango, orange, bananas and guavas. Because of the 2 distinct sections this property would be great for 2 friends to share and both have their own areas or it could even be segregated.
