The main house, Casa Matapalito, is a luxurious 3-story structure with a modern-Zen feel that consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two outside showers.
Starting on the third floor, there are two master bedrooms with a shared balcony and rocking chairs to enjoy the ocean views.
Each third-floor room has a king bed, a sofa bed, and a small bunk bed for a child (4.6 ft). Both rooms can easily fit a family of five with small kids who prefer to sleep together.
These rooms are equipped with fans and screened-in windows to keep the tropical breezes flowing.
The second floor of Casa Matapalito, with its open and spacious floor plan, is ideal for entertaining and hosting large family gatherings. The space contains a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining areas, and a full bathroom.
Enjoy the open sea breezes and wildlife as you cook and relax on the plush custom-made bamboo sofas and hammocks.
The second-floor dining area can comfortably fit 11 guests for an enjoyable dining experience.
The ground floor of Casa Matapalito contains a bedroom, a full bathroom, and a large oceanfront deck. The first-floor bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and a small private deck (separate from the main ground-floor deck).
This room is perfect for guests who prefer to avoid the use of stairs to get to and from their room and has a full bathroom right next to the room.
The expansive ground floor deck is a versatile space; enjoy sunrise yoga, relax in the hammocks or lounge chairs with a good book, have an evening BBQ amongst the monkeys, or gaze at the myriad of stars with a cold beverage at night. Adjacent to Casa Matapalito is another adjoining master bedroom tower. The structure stands a mire 50ft away from the main house and is on the second floor of the car park.
This room is equipped with a king bed and plenty of space to add an additional mattress on the floor in case you are having a big party. The bedroom tower would also be ideal and easily converted into a teen’s room. Guests in this bedroom tower will share the bathroom with the first floor of the main house, Casa Matapalito.
Although Cabo Matapalo is a remote, off-the-beaten-path jungle location, there are still plenty of activities and tours to keep you entertained. Get to know the area and wildlife through some of the locals’ eyes.
A few of the local tours include waterfall rappelling, tree climbing, horseback riding, sportfishing, surf lessons, ziplining, kayak tours, SUP tours, bird watching, Corcovado National Park tours, Spanish lessons, photography sessions with your family, boating to spot dolphins and other marine wildlife, visiting an animal sanctuary or the orchid house “Casa Orquideas” on the other side of the gulf.
There are also plenty of opportunities to pamper yourself here on the Osa, with a massage on the beach or at the house, facials, and spa treatments.
